Bill O’Connell, the principal of O’Connell Law Offices, practices in the areas of real estate law, banking and finance, and business law.

Bill also has extensive experience, representing both lenders and borrowers, in commercial loan workouts –handling both cooperative and adversarial disputes, loan modifications and restructurings, foreclosures, and bankruptcies –in every down real estate market over the last thirty years.
In addition to many years of private practice, Bill has been general counsel of a very active bank-affiliated real estate lending and investment company, general counsel of the real estate finance group of a major commercial finance company, and corporate counsel in the real estate lending and investment area of the legal department of a prominent insurance company.
Bill has handled purchases and sales of substantial real estate developments, structuring and documenting of real estate joint ventures, and all varieties of real estate financing, including construction, mini-perm, and permanent loans. He has recently become active in sales of both performing and non-performing real estate loans.
